i guess i'm not a real photographer cuz i still like the original photo the best out of all 3. :)

Its really a matter of preference. Some people like pictures that don't have alot of processing while others like it. Personally, I like both.

if it makes you feel better...i asked tobey which picture he likes best..and he picked #3. when i asked him why he said..."cuz it looks better out of all 3" :)

He has a good eye! Maybe I should get him a nice little point & shoot for his birthday so he can take his own pictures. He knows how to use one better than mom and dad. :)

I actually really like #2 bc it has less grain. However, I also like grain and texture, so #3 is nice too!

Trying to take good quality pictures daily is EXTREMELY difficult. I was already struggling by the end of the first week.

So my little Samsung point-and-shoot broke while I was on tour. I am planning to really invest in a high-end camera and buy a new point-and-shoot later. What would you recommend in a reasonably priced digital SLR camera? I really look forward to what you have in mind. :)

First off, I'm a Canon guy so I'm sort've biased towards Canon. But you can't really go wrong with Nikon either. There are some really good entry level dslr like the Canon XSi(~$700) or the newer Canon T1i(~$1000). You can also go used and get the Canon 40D which is an excellent camera.

If you can do without the video which the T1i offers, then I would recommend going used and getting the 40D. Or if you have the money, get the 50D which is the newer verision. This is what I have and I love it!

Just remember, you'll probably be spending more on the lens than the camera body. Good lenses make a BIG difference in photo quality. Of course, the person behind the camera does as well. ;) Good Luck!

Wowza! This was very helpful! I love Canon, especially since I use a
Canon HF10 for my video shooting. So I might as well get a camera of
the same brand since I like their quality.
